Nyamal Both

I'm a 20 year old designer born in Ethiopian but originally from the boarder of Sudan and Ethiopia. My name is Nyamal Both, and every since I was Youbg, I have developed a vision to express my multiple talents, which fashion became my biggest achievement. I've been putting all my passion into fashion and modeling industry because it's what I dreamed of becoming ever since I was a child.

I came from a very big religious and educated family. I came to America March 13, 1996 at age 6. Ever since than, I never saw my family or grew up with them. My father, (Jacob Both - The 1st twin) was a former Paster and an educator of all men in Ethiopia and Sudan boarder. I look up to him alot because at all his hard work he has done for his people. My mother (Mary Nyakatka Tap) is a very strong, intelligent women. She was a gospel singer and a writer in the nuer book hymns (which is a church song book translated into a tribal language). Both of my parents have six children. I am the second child, I have three brothers (Gembell, Changkouth, and Gatlut) and two sisters (Sarah Nyakuch, and Nyabiay), which are all in Ethiopia. My father got married again to a second wife and they both have four girls. With myself, I've been living in Minneapolis, MN for thirteen years. I have two kids; My daughter (Queen) and my son (Malik), Which I gave birth to them at age 18 and 19. Through the hard time, my life was finally changed aroound and got married to my husband (Wal Wal) this fall of 2008.

I've been doingfashion shows for two years now. Last year 2007, I've showcased in events like Afrifest, Miss Africa-Minnesota, Miss Junior Africa, and more. This year I've showcased at University Colleges, and African International Modeling Competition in DC. Somewhere in the future my goal is, to have the world see my work and much MORE! I believe in my mission and it will all happen for a great purpose, not just for me but for others.
