Now in fashion there are always rules to wearing a particular item. With a pair of Capri pants you always want to jazz it up with a great pair of heels, boots or even with the flatform we mentioned in our accessories edition. Here are some great looks you can try this spring either as a guy or a girl.

We have found a few key elements that will help you step into spring with color and style. A few quick ways to break into the season while Mother Nature is trying to make up her mind is with the accessories you have. Big preppy type bags or totes are a great piece to use to not only show color but give other an idea of what’s to come via your wardrobe. However, what is a bag without a cute pair of shoes to go with it. Discard those heavy boots and strap on a fun pair of heels, flats or in this case flatforms. Yes elevated flats we like to say. Flats has become a great asset to the wardrobe and know consider it upgraded.
Whatever your accessory is for this spring season, make sure you wear it and if you are going to wear it, ensure you own your new look from head to toe.

Now let us be clear, there is a difference between flared jeans/trousers and bell bottoms, but either are great if worn correctly. The 1970s fashion like many other eras comes back time and time again so let’s get into why flares are in and their influencer. This trend here has no gender as it’s a style that’s occurring for both with men being a little subtler. A man’s interpretation would consist of a pair of jeans or trousers that are slightly wider than your typical boot cut and also slims your thighs and waist. This results in a defined look that’s clean and still takes you out of the 1970s look with platforms. Michael Kors shows the example we mean with the two men below.

Now for women, I need you all to pay very close attention as to not go into the danger zone. You see the danger zone is where you confuse flared jeans with baggy and bell bottoms in one item. The last thing a women needs to be seen in is something that looks like her boyfriend’s jeans that she threw on in the dark in a frantic effort to make her next appointment. Making sure your hem is just as wide as your foot is a good start to wearing a 2011 version of the pant. Also grab a pair that is loose at the knee ensuring the flair starts below the knee. Fashion does show your personality and in the spring season wearing all black can be fatal. Even though the world seems to revolve around women’s fashion, men never fear as there are plenty of fashion trends for you. Starting off this series of men’s fashion we start with the single item that every man should have; a suit. If you decide to go on this roller coaster be sure to have a suit that compliments your male physique. Three important considerations are broad shoulders, a slim waist, and slim trousers. These three factors should go into the cut of the suit which should cater to your physique. The proper cut of a suit provides the masculinity and confidence you need. Suits range in double breasted, three piece, and single breasted for the most part.

The single breasted suit is your dominant go-to style that can be dressed up or toned down to your liking. Whatever reason or occasion you wear this suit, make sure that it accommodates a great pocket square and nothing else. This isn’t the suit to stuff all your fanny pack items into; it’s sleek with slim to medium lapels or peaked lapels providing very minimal room to accessories.

When it comes to the double breasted suit there are a few more tips we must provide to you. Many men have steered away from the double breasted suit for all good reasons, but now they have returned and here are a few rules to get you buy. If this is a suit that you are buying straight off the rack, be sure to see the different variations per cut. Look for a suit that broadens the shoulders and of course slims down your waist size. Always consider a double breasted suit with peaked lapels that offers an optional handkerchief. Many double breasted suits can also give you height with a longer lapel line.

Now onto the ultimate suit which just gets me going is the three piece suit that makes me feel as if I’m James Bond in the making. This type of suit gives you the edge above others in any situation I can assure you. The waistcoat, also called a vest, can be a standalone piece to wear causally or add that extra touch to your suit. When wearing such a suit it’s all about cohesion so please no mismatching between the suit and the waistcoat. With your waistcoat be sure to have one that has a V shape that breaks between the sternum and the base of your rib cage.

Thus far we have looked at a number of important factors in wearing a particular style of suit and I’m hoping by now you have a clearer idea of the type of suit you will be sporting in and out of work this spring. From spring colors, cuts, fabric choices, and shapes, be sure to pick a suit that works best for you. Whichever suit you decide to wear ensure that you give life to it by seeing your local tailor. The only draw back we seem to find is that RiRi should have had more images showing off her body and adding some color to the shoot. I mean she is one who is known to make fashion risk and look good while doing it.
